We can earn good deeds daily by setting the right intention for the everyday tasks that we do.

I will give you a few examples that how you can do that, and it will surprise you how easy it is, and it will make you appreciate your religion so much. However, it is important to realize here these tasks that we do should be permissible in Islam.

First, I will quote one hadith that also highlights the importance of intention in Islam.

“Actions are judged by intentions” — Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

We eat our breakfast, lunch, dinner every day but if we set the intention that food will give me energy and in turn that will help me obey Allah and worship, then this act will become your good deed. Also, if you think eating food will give you pleasure, you will thank Allah for it. Then this activity of eating will become your worship with just one good intention. How easy is that!

We go to our workplace every day, but if we set a good intention, then this daily routine will increase our good deeds. Suppose a software engineer can think that he is making apps so that they will ease people’s daily life. The Doctor can think he will help patients. The cloth merchant can think that wearing clothes is obligatory in Islam and my business will help people fulfill their obligation. All are good intentions and they will be rewarded.

We can set an intention with our salaries as well that with money we will be able to help the poor and needy. Also, we will be able to spend it on our loved ones, which in turn makes them happy. In this way, our everyday job becomes worship for us.

Students can think their studies will help them later to serve the country and support their families.

Everyone loves kids and likes to play with them but if we set the intention that by doing so, I will be able to follow Sunnah then even this act will be recorded as your good deed.

If you do home chores and think that Holy Prophet(PBUP) used to do his tasks himself, then just this intention will add to your good deeds.

If you wear a watch and think that it will inform you of prayer timings, then you have set a good intention that rewards you.

Someone plants a tree, thinking that it will provide shade to travelers, or it will add beauty to the environment, then this intention will give you a reward of a good deed.

Anything permissible which is done with a good intention of pleasing Allah and his creation will be rewarded.

So easy! Make good intentions with your daily chores and earn incredible rewards for your next world.
